Commonwealth Bank Australia’s latest JCDecaux campaign aims to raise much needed funds for CBA’s staff charity of choice, the Clown Doctors.

Each year, the Clown Doctors help the lives of more than 180,000 sick children and their families by conducting ‘Clown Rounds’ in every major children’s hospital in Australia.

Launched as part of the CBA’s Clowning For Kids appeal, the campaign generates instant crowdfunding via engagement with a custom built JCDecaux Innovate panel that features an inbuilt camera and LCD touch screen.

Passers-by are encouraged to pose for a photo and add a clown-themed filter to bring their silly selfie to life – literally taking clowning around for a good cause to the streets. With every selfie snapped, CBA will then make an instant $5 donation.

“Clown Doctors put a smile on the face of thousands of kids every day and we’re proud to be able to deliver the interactive solution that will see funds raised to support this important work,’’ said Oliver Newton, NSW Sales Director, JCDecaux Australia. “CBA’s campaign is set to put a smile on the face of thousands of kids, as well as the faces of everyone who gets involved with the campaign.”

As a founding partner, Commonwealth Bank has been proudly supporting the Clown Doctors since 1999. Commonwealth Bank are aiming to raise $300,000 in additional support for the Clown Doctors this year, which will bring an extra 30,000 smiles to the faces of sick kids.

The Silly Selfie panel is live in Martin Place, outside MLC Centre, Sydney from 24 – 30 March 2015.
