Indigenous owned Cooee Native Foods is partnering with JCDecaux Australia to share First Nations culture, stories and native ingredients with millions of Australians through a NAIDOC Week digital Out of Home campaign across Sydney and Melbourne.

Under this year’s theme, 50 Years of Deadly, the campaign showcases Cooee’s commitment to celebrating Country through native foods and supporting First Nations growers, producers and communities. The campaign will run across JCDecaux’s premium digital network throughout NAIDOC Week, giving national visibility to Indigenous enterprise.

As part of the partnership, Cooee founder and CEO Terri Ann Daniel joined JCDecaux employees nationally for a conversation about the stories behind native foods, and the role Indigenous owned businesses play in strengthening cultural and economic outcomes.
Terri Ann Daniel, CEO, Cooee Native Foods, said: “NAIDOC Week is a time to honour culture and recognise the knowledge that has sustained our communities for thousands of years. Native foods carry stories of Country, kinship and care for the land. Sharing these ingredients with more Australians helps grow understanding while creating opportunities for Indigenous enterprise to thrive.”

Cooee Native Foods recently brought the 25 year old Creative Native Foods brand into Indigenous ownership for the first time, marking a significant milestone for the native food industry and expanding opportunities for First Nations growers and producers.

Tess Phillips, Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs and RAP co-Chair, said: “Supporting Indigenous owned businesses is an essential part of strengthening cultural, social and economic outcomes. Cooee’s campaign gives their story national visibility and hearing directly from Terri Ann helps our teams understand how Indigenous enterprise carries culture and community forward.”

The partnership aligns with JCDecaux’s Reconciliation Action Plan and its Nurture for Country program, which supports organisations delivering positive environmental and community outcomes.
