JCDecaux Innovate have partnered with Huawei Devices to promote the launch of their new 4G smartphone – the Huawei Ascend G6. The snap-happy interactive campaign shows that with the Huawei Ascend G6, nothing gets in the way of a good selfie.
Featuring a unique custom-built Innovate panel fitted with a 46” portrait touch screen, the campaign gives passers-by the opportunity to see the Huawei Ascend’s 5MP selfie technology in action. Participants are prompted to pose, have their photo taken and see their image transformed into an epic ‘selfie bomb’ set against a backdrop of the new Transformers film.
By entering their details via the interactive panel, participants can choose to be sent a copy of their ‘selfie bomb’ photo and receive 15-seconds of fame by having their image displayed on the rotating JCDecaux panel. Participants also get the chance to win a VIP Transformers: Age of Extinction trip for 2 to Beijing and Shanghai – awarded for the most creative selfie image.
Huawei’s Head of Marketing for Devices, Poh-Lee Koh, said "Australians will enjoy our latest 4G smartphone offering in the form of the Huawei Ascend G6. With its 5MP selfie camera and 88-degree wide angle shooting, nothing will get in the way of your great selfie. We were looking for an effective way to demonstrate this key selfie feature of the Ascend G6, and are pleased to partner with JCDecaux to bring it to life via the interactive panels."
Danni Robinson, JCDecaux Innovate Manager, said “’Selfie’ was the word of the year for 2013 and continues to be in 2014 for executing a fun and engaging experience for users at our Innovate outdoor panels. We have enjoyed partnering with Huawei and content agency, The Creative Shop, to bring the Huawei Selfie concept to life”.
The Huawei Innovate campaign is live in Sydney and Melbourne from 24 June - 7 July 2014. An accompanying Citylights campaign will run in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane during the same dates.
Huawei Devices’ retail partners include: Allphones, Dicksmith, JB Hi-Fi, Mo’s, Optus, Vodafone.
