To celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on DVD and Blu-ray, JCDecaux, Disney and Sprout Network brought the Dark Side to Southern Cross Station with a pop-up Star Wars coffee stand.

An area of the station at the Spencer Street entrance became a dedicated Star Wars zone for a day. Complete with a squad of Storm Troopers and even a BB-8 droid, commuters who were passing through were invited to grab a Dark Side (espresso) or Light Side (latte) coffee.

Curious passer-by and people waiting for their coffee could watch the film trailer on iPads and take photos with the props, all the while live radio crosses were taking place to promote the event. While it’s a world (or galaxy) far, far away from Tatooine or Jakku, for a day Melbourne got a taste of the dark (and light) side, and loved it.
