Our vision is for an Australia that listens to, celebrates, embraces, and is united by First Nations' voices and perspectives.

JCDecaux started its reconciliation journey by preparing a Reflect RAP in March 2021.

In March 2022, we were proud to be the first Out-of-Home media company to launch a Reconciliation Australia endorsed RAP, taking the first step in confirming our commitment to drive meaningful reconciliation efforts in Australia. We embarked on this journey to drive action within our business, as well as our sphere of influence to engage Australians from all walks of life and spread awareness of Country and First Peoples.

Our commitment to the RAP process, and the actions and relationships that have been initiated since our Reflect RAP, have had numerous positive effects within and outside our organisation. As a media channel that shares information with a broad audience, we remain committed to building more cultural understanding and respect.

Our employee RAP working group, sponsored by Co-CEO David Watkins, will drive the outcomes and be champions of reconciliation across the business.

We are committed to supporting national reconciliation efforts

Through the development of targeted initiatives, we aim to advance reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander peoples, communities, and businesses.

Based on learnings since our Reflect RAP, our key priorities for the Innovate RAP sit
across four key areas:

Our First Nations Partnerships

Flowing through seasons

To commemorate our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, we have commissioned an artwork from contemporary Aboriginal artist, Yukupin (Toby Bishop).

Yukupin's artwork - Flowing through seasons - speaks to JCDecaux's continuing journey towards reconciliation.

Through nurturing the goals of engagement, partnership, procurement, and employment with indigenous communities, people and businesses, positive streams of connections are created, which will always gain momentum throughout time.

JCDecaux Australia acknowledges the 60,000 year-long connection between First Nations Peoples and the continent now known as Australia and pay our respects to all Traditional Owners and Elders past, present, and emerging. We thank them for their care and custodianship over land, sea, and community and acknowledge the rich growth and innovation that their ancestral cultural knowledge has provided for this country.

JCDecaux is honoured to operate on traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lands across Australia and we are proud to have embarked on our reconciliation journey. Every day, no matter where we work, live, or play, we at JCDecaux remember: Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
