Walking through the city on Friday or over the weekend you may have spotted volunteers out and about in yellow or purple t-shirts.
These volunteers were raising money for Starlight Day (Friday 6 May), the biggest day of the year for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. For 28 years, Starlight has been putting smiles on the faces of seriously ill children through their Starlight Express Rooms in hospitals across the country and by granting the wishes of these children (506 were granted in 2015 alone!), providing well needed moments of fun, joy and laughter.
Since the beginning of 2015, JCDecaux have been supporting the Starlight Foundation, and it’s a charity we’re proud of getting behind. On Friday, you may have spotted the JCDecaux crew in Circular Quay or Wynyard Station when a few of us donned yellow shirts and hit the pavement to raise funds.
JCDecaux have donated media space for several Starlight campaigns during the year to help spread the word about various events including Starlight Day and Urban Stars as well as to create general awareness to ensure the charity is top of mind for the people of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
