Portrait of Britain is back in partnership with British Journal of Photography, something that we are very proud of as a business as it transforms our screens into a national portrait gallery and showcases the power of the public screen to celebrate diversity.

As we enter 2022, we are proud and excited for the return of Portrait of Britain – the UK’s biggest annual photography exhibition – in collaboration with British Journal of Photography.

Turning JCDecaux’s screens into a national portrait gallery with each of the 100 winning images capturing the changing face of our diverse and inclusive nation in their own unique way. They have been selected by a panel of industry-leading judges including Tracy Marshall, director of Bristol Photo Festival; Mariama Attah, curator at Open Eye Gallery and Nicola Shipley, director of GRAIN Projects.

Portrait of Britain will be showcased on JCDecaux screens across the UK for the month of January.

The 100 photographs in this year’s Portrait of Britain exhibition show the power of the public screen of Out-of-Home to celebrate and champion the many faces of our communities, underlining the resilience and diversity of our nation.  We are delighted to be working with the British Journal of Photography once again to bring this wonderful exhibition to a national audience, turning our digital channel into a national portrait gallery throughout January and reaching people when they are out and about in cities across the UK.Mark BucknellChief Commercial Officer at JCDecaux UK

200 shortlisted images will be published in the Portrait of Britain book, vol. 4, published by Hoxton Mini Press and distributed worldwide (published 3 February 2022).
